Murray Corporation manufactures the TBLS series spring-loaded T-bolt clamps, combining the high clamping force of a T-bolt design with an integrated spring mechanism that maintains constant tension as hoses expand and contract due to temperature changes. The TBLS series is the ideal solution for applications where thermal cycling, hose relaxation, or vibration would cause a standard T-bolt clamp to gradually lose its grip.

How Spring-Loaded T-Bolt Clamps Work

The TBLS spring-loaded T-bolt clamp operates on the same principle as a standard T-bolt clamp, using a T-shaped bolt and nut to draw a wide stainless steel band around the hose. The critical difference is the addition of a precision-calibrated spring element between the bolt head and the band. This spring compresses during installation and then continuously exerts force on the band as conditions change.

When the hose heats up and expands, the spring extends slightly to allow the band to grow with the hose while maintaining clamping pressure. When the hose cools and contracts, the spring compresses the band back to a tighter diameter. This dynamic response keeps the connection sealed through repeated thermal cycles without manual retightening.
